We are a Sudanese organisation built on trust — committed to safeguarding, transparency, and showing up for the communities we serve.

Who we are
The National Planning Organization exists for one reason: to protect people and support communities across Sudan. We take safeguarding seriously — not as a box to tick, but as a daily responsibility to the families and individuals who rely on us.
From our head office in Khartoum to our field office in El-Fashir, our staff work independently, fairly, and openly. When things go well, we share that. When things are hard, we share that too.
For us, integrity is not a word on a poster. It is how we behave — honest, loyal, fair, and unwilling to accept corruption in any form.
Our core values
Integrity
We judge people by their actions. Honesty, truthfulness, loyalty, fairness, and a clear rejection of corruption — these are non-negotiable for everyone on our team.
Loyalty
We put the organisation's mission above personal gain, politics, or outside pressure. The communities we serve come first.
Independence
Our staff answer to our values and our communities — not to outside authorities trying to steer our work.
Impartiality
When there is a dispute, we stay objective. No favourites, no bias — just a calm, fair look at the facts.
Commitment
We do our best, every day, to earn the trust of the communities we work with.
Openness
We are honest about our work — including the parts that are difficult. Our staff and partners agree to share progress and problems alike.
Accountability
We own our results. Doing the minimum is not enough — we are responsible for making things better and staying true to our goals.
Respect for Each Individual
Every person — colleague, partner, vendor, or visitor — deserves dignity. We work to create an environment where people feel seen and valued.
Forms of abuse we respond to
Abuse is never acceptable. We work on prevention, awareness, and response — always with the person affected at the centre of what we do.
Sexual Abuse
We prevent and respond through clear policies, community awareness, and confidential reporting — so survivors are not left to cope alone.
Exploitation
We watch for exploitation in all its forms and act when power or money is used to harm someone.
Physical Abuse
Physical harm is recognised, reported, and responded to quickly — following standards everyone on our team understands.
Neglect
When someone is not getting the care they need, we identify it early and make sure support reaches them.
Emotional Abuse
Psychological harm matters just as much. We offer referrals, safe spaces to talk, and take every report seriously.
Our safeguarding principles
Empowerment
People should feel supported and confident enough to make their own choices — and to give informed consent.
Protection
Those in the greatest need deserve representation and practical support, not empty promises.
Prevention
The best response is stopping harm before it starts — through training, awareness, and strong systems.
Proportionality
We match our response to the level of risk — neither overreacting nor looking the other way.
Partnerships
We work with communities, local groups, and authorities because protection is a shared responsibility.
Accountability
We hold ourselves — and our partners — to the standards we ask others to follow.
